Austin Fetterly Returns for 11th Season

The Port Huron Prowlers’ captain and longest-tenured player will return for an 11th season with the club. Port Huron native Austin Fetterly has been re-signed for the 2026-27 season the club announced Thursday.

“We’re super excited to have Fetts back,” said Prowlers general manager Matt Graham. “He has grown into a great leader on and off the ice. He plays the game the right way and he’ll do whatever it takes for the guys in the room to have success.”

Last season, Fetterly put up 21 points in 44 games as he split time between his natural forward position and filling in on defense when needed. Four of his nine goals came on the power play and two were game winners including an overtime winner on March 21 against the Topeka Scarecrows. In the playoffs, he produced three points in six games.

“Purpose is everything when it comes to this group,” Fetterly said. “We pour everything we have into everything we do every day. We not only hold ourselves to a high standard as individuals, but as a whole. The way we prepare is unlike any other team. The culture our coaching staff has established is the standard for the league. I can’t wait to see the fruits of our labor at the end of the season. This is a very hungry group after not being able to get where we wanted the past two seasons and the setbacks have only fueled the fire even more. Our fans can feel it too, that’s why McMorran is one of the hardest rinks to come into for our opponents.”

2026-27 will be Fetterly’s 11th as a Prowler and third as captain. He ranks fifth in franchise history in goals (95), assists (164) and points (259) while appearing in the third-most games (359). The 31-year-old is also Port Huron’s all-time leader in shootout goals (7), attempts (17) and winners (3). The only other pro team he’s played for is the SPHL’s Pensacola Ice Flyers where he dressed for 17 games during the 2021-22 season.
