Catching Up With Dave Nippard and Bryan Parsons
The Port Huron Prowlers are proud to announce the return of Dave Nippard and Bryan Parsons for the 2020-21 FPHL season. Jeremy Skiba had the chance to catch up with both players so fans can get to know them better and to find out what they did under quarantine.
Dave Nippard:
Q: What have you been doing to stay active/busy during quarantine?
A: I have spent the majority of quarantine back in my home town of Lewisporte, Newfoundland. I haven’t been home for this long since my high school days as I usually reside in Calgary, Alberta. It’s nice to come back to my roots and see old friends and family. While I was home, I have been doing a lot of fishing, hiking, camping, as well as training for the upcoming season!
Q: What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming season?
A: With respect to the upcoming season, we have some unfinished business to take care of. Looks like we will have the same group of guys returning with the addition of some serious talent which should be scary for the rest of the league. I feel as if we were just heating up as a group before the playoffs were interrupted and this makes the boys even more excited to get back and keep the train rolling into the new season! I’m really looking forward to getting back with the fellas, it’s hard to put into words, but we all miss each other during the off-season!
Q: Who’s your favorite NHL team?
A: Tough question, I feel like a bandwagon jumper at times, simply because of the various talent dispersed throughout the league. It’s hard to have a favorite, but I’ll have to say the Maple Leafs will be my all-time favorite team! They’ve made some moves and big signings as of late and it looks like they’re going to be a force next season. I don’t want to Jinx anything, but “Go Leafs Go”.
Q: What’s your favorite moment from your hockey career?
A: Probably experiencing my first Fed game at McMorran. Things got a little messy during the first couple periods. There were a couple fights, Pace ended up getting tossed from the game, then various things got broken throughout the dressing room. I knew I was in for a fun ride that season!
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: My favorite, hands down, is Wedding Crashers… Rule #76.
Bryan Parsons:
Q: What have you been doing to stay active/busy during quarantine?
A: At first, I was just hanging with my dad a lot and enjoying his company! Once stuff started opening back up, I started skating and working out every day!
Q: What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming season?
A: I’m looking forward to getting back with the guys and finishing what we started last year!
Q: Who’s your favorite NHL team?
A: Bruins obviously, I’m a Mass guy! Can’t betray my roots!
Q: What’s your favorite moment from your hockey career?
A: Winning a High School State championship and being defensive partners with my childhood best friend that I grew up with! It was a great experience for my entire neighborhood family!
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: The Town. Only because I like hearing Chris Paulin try his best Boston accents reciting the movie lines in the locker room
