Dekumbis Prepares for 5th Season in Port Huron

The Port Huron Prowlers continued announcing returners Saturday as they re-signed Vincent Dekumbis. The Swiss forward is preparing for his fifth season with the club.

“I am very excited to have Vinny back,” said Prowlers general manager Matt Graham. “He’s a player who has grown with us over the past few seasons. He took big strides this past season, becoming a guy we counted on to play in all situations. He was one of our most trusted penalty killers, and played a major role in our offense at the end of the season. We look for him to continue to take steps forward and elevate his game even more this season.”

Last season, Dekumbis appeared in 55 of the Prowlers’ 56 regular season games and put up 26 points on 10 goals and 16 assists. All of those are career highs. He also led Port Huron at +27 during the regular season. In the playoffs, Dekumbus scored twice and added an assist in four games.

Through four years as a Prowler, Dekumbis has appeared in 125 games and put up 62 points. Five of his 22 career FPHL goals are game winners. The 28-year-old also has professional experience in his native Switzerland, most notably in 2024-25 when he recorded two points in 36 games with the Swiss League’s GDT Bellinzona Snakes. Before turning pro in 2022, Dekumbis played college hockey at Lawrence University.

“I’m excited to be back in Port Huron and get to work with this group again,” Dekumbis said. “Since I first got here, the culture has grown every year and there’s a real belief in what we’re building. We know the standard we want to play at and we know what this group is capable of. For us, the goal is simple: win a championship. McMorran is a special place to play because of the energy our fans bring every night, and I’m looking forward to getting back in front of them and getting the season started.”
