Favaro Back on the Port Huron Blue Line

The Port Huron Prowlers have made their first move on the back end this offseason with re-signing defenseman Nick Favaro. Favaro joined Port Huron last summer following a trade from the Monroe Moccasins.

The 28-year-old appeared in 55 of the Prowlers’ 56 regular season games in 2025-26 and put up 39 points on 11 goals and 28 assists. He recorded a hat trick on Nov. 8 in Blue Ridge and scored the overtime game-winner on Jan. 2 against Indiana. Favaro appeared in all six playoff games and finished with a +5 +/-.

“We’re excited to get back Favs for a second year,” said Prowlers assistant general manager Alex Johnson. “He was a big piece for us all year on the back end. He’s a great defenseman who is a threat all over the offensive zone. He has a bomb of a shot and uses it anytime he can. He is trusted to play in all situations and we expect big minutes out of him this year.”

Favaro split the 2024-25 season between Monroe and the SPHL’s Macon Mayhem. He played his rookie season the year before in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones and Wichita Thunder. The Woodbridge, Ontario native played his NCAA DIII hockey at Curry College and was named Commonwealth Coast Conference First-Team All Conference, American Hockey Coaches Association Second-Team All American and All-USCHO Third Team.
