Jansen Scores Only Goal in Binghamton's Game 1 Win
The Binghamton Black Bears got the only goal of Game 1 5:18 into it and took down the Port Huron Prowlers 1-0 to take a 1-0 series lead. Dominik Tmej made 27 saves in his first playoff shutout.
Mac Jansen scored the goal on a rebound in front of the net. It was his second power-play goal of the playoffs. Tmej and Reid Cooper put on a show between the pipes the rest of the way.
Cooper made 30 stops in the loss.
“Coop is a warrior,” said Prowlers associate head coach Chris Paulin. “He’s going to continue to battle, just like every one of us. This is a series; we’re ready for Binghamton.”
Binghamton will have two chances to advance to their third-straight Commissioner’s Cup Finals at home starting on Saturday, April 25 at 7:00 P.M. The game can be seen live on the PHP Network YouTube channel.
