Lockhart Signs as Latest Blue Line Returner
The Port Huron Prowlers have announced another returner to their defense corps as they re-signed Brett Lockhart. The Braintree, Massachusetts native is heading into his fourth season as a Prowler.
“We’re excited to get [Lockhart] back for another season,” said Prowlers assistant general manager Alex Johnson. “[Lockhart] is an elite defenseman in this league. He has all the tools to be a dominant force every night. Some of the moves he makes just make your jaw drop. Getting players like him back is huge for the team with knowing the system and the way we play. He’s huge for our locker room and we expect big things for him this season.”
Last season was Lockhart’s second full pro campaign and he put up 21 points in 47 games to match his offensive output from 2024-25. He was also +24, good for third on the team, and chipped in a game-winning goal. The 25-year-old also spent some time with the SPHL’s Quad City Storm where he registered two assists in 12 contests.
Lockhart has been +21 or better in each of his two full FPHL seasons. He’s contributed 43 points in 107 career games, all for Port Huron. Lockhart joined the Prowlers as a collegiate signing near the end of the 2023-24 season out of Plymouth State University where he helped the Panthers the three Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) titles in four years.
“I’m excited to get back and see all the boys and continue to build the culture we started,” Lockhart said.
