Martinu returns between the pipes
Port Huron, MI - The Port Huron Prowlers have been busy this summer both in the community and the league's transaction page. The coaching staff announced today another returning player with a familiar face: goaltender Curtis Martinu, who will return for his third season in a Prowlers uniform.
Entering his 5th year professionally, Martinu has backstopped the Prowlers in 34 games over the past two seasons with a .913 save percentage. He has also spent time in the SPHL as well as action in the ECHL in 2013-14. Martinu finished his Junior A career with the Estevan Bruins of the SJHL, playing in 46 regular season games and 9 in the playoff's with a 2.91 GAA and a .904 save%.
"I'm really excited to be able to come back to the Port. My first year here had ups and downs, to get a call up and then watch your teammates go on to win a championship, I was happy for all of them but still wish I was there. We had a disappointing start last year as a team but then turned it around at the end. This year I am focused on my game and picking up where we left off last year. It may be my last season and I want to end it with a parade down Main Street," said Martinu.
The Prowlers will open the season on the road against the reigning President's Cup champions, the Danville Dashers on November 3rd at 8 PM. Check out our website and follow the Prowlers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the latest player signings and team news!
