Prowlers Claim Skinner From Waivers
The Port Huron Prowlers claimed goaltender Dysen Skinner off waivers from the Binghamton Black Bears the team announced Friday. He is not expected to join Port Huron on its current road trip and will be temporarily listed as “not yet reported.”
The 27-year-old made two starts for Binghamton after being dealt from the Twin City Thunderbirds on March 9. He went 1-1-0 with a 3.05 goals-against average and an .872 save percentage. Overall this season between the Black Bears and Thunderbirds, Skinner is 4-6-0 with a 3.63 goals-against average and .902 save percentage. He also made five starts for the SPHL Huntsville Havoc where he went 3-2-0 with a 2.01 goals-against average and .928 save percentage.
“We’re really excited to bring Dysen into the group,” said Prowlers associate head coach Chris Paulin. “He’s a very good goaltender who has a lot of potential to grow. We’ve followed Dysen the last few years since watching him in college. We know his game well and he will only add to our goalie room. We believe in his game and I’m confident he’s going to love the boys here in Port Huron.”
2025-26 is the Montana native’s second full professional season. Last year, he made two starts for the Thunderbirds and won both while allowing two total goals. Skinner spent most of the year in the SPHL with the Macon Mayhem and Peoria Rivermen where he was named to the league’s All-Rookie team. He also made an appearance in the ECHL for the Atlanta Gladiators. Skinner played his college hockey at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he was a 3-time All-WIAC Honorable Mention and led the conference with a 1.77 goals-against average his senior year.
Skinner is expected to join the Prowlers when they return home to finish the regular season on April 10 and 11 at McMorran Place. Tickets are available at phprowlers.com/tickets.
