By David Cesefske

Port Huron, MI - Port Huron came out on a mission Friday night, coming away with a 6-2 victory over the Cornwall Nationals. An emotional night for Prowlers forward Paul Arnott, who recently lost his father; Arnott picking up an assist with the win.

The Nationals led 1-0 after the first 20 minutes of play; the opening goal coming off the stick of Brandon Gilmour, assisted by Tom Tsicos. Both teams came out very physical from the opening puck drop, as gloves were dropped 52 seconds into the game; penalties going to Port Huron's Nicholas Wright and Cornwall's Antoine Guimond.

Port Huron really came alive offensively in the second period lighting the lamp three times with goals from Yianni Liarakos, Dalton Jay, and Matt Robertson. The Prowlers would take the lead after two periods of play with a score of 3-2.

The third would prove to be more of the same as Port Huron would add three more goals to take a commanding 6-2 lead, with Liarakos picking up his second goal of the night. Port Huron's Dalton Jay also proved to be big in the win, picking up 2 goals of his own, and skating away with the 2nd Star for the Prowlers.

The night was full of story-lines, including the return of FHL great Ahmed Mahfouz, for the first time not in a Prowlers jersey. Mahfouz was unable to create space or scoring chances as Port Huron's defense stood strong. The win is Port Huron's fourth in their last five games.

These same two teams will face off again Saturday, at 7:30 PM at McMorran Arena.
