Prowlers Crush Wolves in Home Opener
The Port Huron Prowlers dominated the Watertown Wolves 6-1 in their home opener at McMorran Place on Oct. 30. Port Huron won the shots battle 51-20 in the victory.
The Prowlers got the scoring started less than four minutes in when Arsenii Smekhnov potted his first pro goal. Later in the period, Bobby Price found Reggie Millette for a tip in front of the net and Port Huron took the 2-0 lead to the intermission.
In the second, Brett Lockhart extended the lead to 3-0 before Donovan Powell got the Wolves on the board. Jamie Bucell and Price scored 1:08 apart to help put the game out of reach. Aidan LaValley tipped home his first pro goal to round out the scoring.
Millette and Price each added two assists to their goals. Bucell and Lockhart had an assist apiece and Andrew MacLean got the win after a 19-save performance.
Anthony Shrum stopped 45 shots in the loss.
