Prowlers 'Heart and Soul' Brockway Re-Signs

The Port Huron Prowlers have re-signed a piece of their leadership group in defenseman Ben Brockway. The 25-year-old was named an alternate captain prior to last season.

“Bringing Ben Brockway back was important for us,” said Prowlers assistant general manager Alex Johnson. “He understands what it means to be a Prowler and brings a competitive edge every time he steps on the ice. He will do anything for his teammates and is the heart and soul of this team. You can’t replicate what he means to this organization. We’re excited to have him back for another season.”

Brockway appeared in 37 games wearing the “A” in 2025-26 and put up six points and was a +9. His 201 penalty minutes were the third-most in the FPHL.

The Phoenix, Arizona native will be entering his third pro season in October and has totaled 11 points and 276 penalty minutes in 69 career games, all with Port Huron. Before turning pro, Brockway played three years of NCAA DIII hockey at Bethel University and one at Worcester State.

“The goal this year is undoubtedly to get to the top of the mountain with our group,” Brockway said. “We went into this offseason with a clear vision of what steps we all need to take to ensure that becomes a reality for not only the Prowlers, but the whole city of Port Huron. It’s going to be a really exciting year to be a Port Huron Prowlers fan. I expect it to once again be a suffocating atmosphere for visiting teams that are forced to step into McMorran Arena and play us.”
