Prowlers on New Win Streak

By Dennis Stuckey

Port Huron, MI - The Port Huron Prowlers have a two game win streak, and collected 7 of a possible 9 points in a three game weekend series against the Carolina Thunderbirds, after a 3-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at McMorran Arena.

Dalton Jay's first period goal that gave the Prowlers an early 1-0 lead, with an assist from Matt Graham.

Matt Graham made it 2-0 early in the second, but the Thunderbirds rallied to tie the score on goals by Jiri Pestuka and Ray Boudiette.

Tempers flared late in the third period for a second straight game between the rivals, as fights between Branden Parkhouse and Dominik Fejt, and one between Joe Pace, Jr. and Michael Bunn brought the crowd to a frenzy. Matt Graham scored his second goal of the game on a net-mouth scramble with 6:36 left, to break the 2-2 tie and lift the Prowlers to their 15th win in the last 16 games.

The first place Prowlers return to action on Thursday, February 1, when the Cornwall Nationals visit McMorran Arena again for a 7:00 PM faceoff.
