Prowlers Return Arttu Hekkilä
The Port Huron Prowlers have announced another re-signing as they bring back Finnish forward Arttu Heikkilä for a second FPHL season. Last year was Heikkilä’s first in North America.
The 25-year-old got off to a blazing start with a goal in six of the Prowlers’ first eight games and finished the year tied for third on the team with 16 tallies. Six of his goals came on the power play and he added 18 assists for 34 points. In the playoffs, Heikkilä registered a goal and an assist in six games. Before joining Port Huron for the start of the season, he put up eight points in seven games while serving as an alternate captain for JHT in Finland’s Suomi-sarja.
“Heiks is one of, if not the best, 200-foot players in the league,” said Prowlers general manager Matt Graham. “His attention to detail and work ethic with and without the puck are what make him so elite. He is someone that is counted on to play in all scenarios, and bringing him back was a top priority for our staff.”
Heikkilä has spent the rest of his pro career in Finland’s Mestis and Suomi-sarja, the second and third top leagues in the country, respectively. He pitched in 21 points in 121 career Mestis games and served as Hermes’ alternate captain in 2024-25. Heikkilä is over a point-per-game in Suomi-sarja with 36 in 32 career games.
Arttu Heikkilä and the Prowlers are back on the ice in October and season tickets are going fast! Lock in your seats now at phprowlers.com/season-memberships.
