Prowlers Sign Forward Arsenii Smekhnov

The Port Huron Prowlers have announced the addition of forward Arsenii Smekhnov. He was in camp with the SPHL’s Peoria Rivermen.

“We’re very excited to bring Arsenii to Port Huron,” said Prowlers associate head coach Chris Paulin. “He is a high level player that has the ability to impact the game at both ends of the arena. He’s hungry to play, progress his game, and win. We expect his mentality to fit in well with the environment we’ve established here in Port Huron.”

Smekhnov last played in 2024-25 when he wrapped up his NCAA DIII career at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He had a goal and three assists as a senior and helped the Falcons to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association final.

The Kirov, Russia native spent three years at UW-River Falls and totaled 21 points in 80 games. He also played a season at NCAA DI Long Island University. Smekhnov played juniors in the USHL and NAHL.

The Prowlers home opener is on Friday, Oct. 23 against the Indiana Sentinels at 7:05 P.M. Get your tickets in advance and save money at phprowlers.com/tickets.
